The 2016 categories and topics are:
A. Photography
The maximum of 3 individual photos or
one series of 5 photos.
Recommended topics:
- nature, mountain landscape,
- uncommon panoramas,
- a man in the mountains.
B. Film
A documentary or a story on an event
that took place in the mountains, or
an essay on the beauty of mountains,
the maximum running time is 20
minutes.
Recommended topics:
- nature, mountain landscape,
- outdoor activities in the mountains.
C. Literature
The maximum of 2 entries of any
literary genre are allowed.
Recommended topics:
- the magic of mountain nature and
mountain landscape,
- a story of a man in the mountains.

High Tatra.
HORALFEST, a festival of mountain art
was held in Stary Smokovec, Vysoke
Tatry first time in 2005. Its main
purpose was to present amateur art
inspired by mountains. HORALFEST
has been a biennale event since 2010.
